TERMS OF TRADE

1. Definitions
“We”, “Us”, “Our” refers to Gas Appliance Specialists (2005) Limited, trading as Gas Appliance Specialists and Auckland Ducting Specialists.
“You”, “Your” refers to the customer purchasing goods or services from us.
“Goods” means any parts, materials, or products supplied by us.
“Services” means any labour, inspection, servicing, cleaning, repair, or installation carried out by us.
2. Acceptance of Terms
By engaging us to supply goods or services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Trade unless otherwise agreed in writing.
3. Payment Terms and Overdue Charges
Payment is due within 2 days of completion unless otherwise agreed in writing.
All pricing is exclusive of GST unless stated otherwise.
Overdue accounts may incur interest at 2.5% per month on the outstanding balance.
You agree to reimburse all reasonable costs incurred in recovering overdue amounts including legal or debt collection fees.
4. Quotes
All quotes are valid for 30 days unless otherwise stated.
A 25% deposit may be payable on acceptance of a quote.
Additional charges or revised timelines may apply if work cannot proceed as planned due to circumstances outside our control.
Manufacturer price increases may be passed on.
Cancellation of accepted quotes may incur a Cancellation/Restocking fee of 15%.
Work outside the quoted scope will be treated as a variation and charged accordingly.
5. Minimum Charges / Standard Fees
A minimum service fee applies which may include:
• House call / call-out fee (applies even if no work is performed, e.g., nobody home).
• Labour (Time on site).
• Certification fee (for issuing, for example, a Gas Safety Certificate or Certificate of Compliance).
Additional parts, labour, or materials will be charged in addition to the minimum fee.
6. Cancellations
Cancellations with less than 1 working-day’s notice may incur a call-out or cancellation fee.
7. Warranty
Workmanship is warranted for 90 days for repairs or servicing and 12 months for new installations.
Manufacturer warranties apply according to manufacturer terms.
You may be required to provide a Certificate of Compliance issued by the installer for warranty purposes.
Where we attend site for a suspected warranty issue and the manufacturer declines the claim, parts, labour and call-out charges may apply.
8. Limitation of Liability
Our liability is limited to the value of goods or services supplied and excludes indirect or consequential losses to the extent permitted by law.
9. Access & Site Safety
Customers must provide safe and reasonable access to the work area. Additional charges may apply where access is restricted.
10. Consumer Guarantees Act
Where services are supplied for business purposes the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 does not apply.
11. Force Majeure
We are not liable for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control.
12. Variations
These Terms may be updated from time to time. The version in effect at the time of engagement will apply.
13. Construction Contracts Act 2002
Where applicable, work performed may be subject to the Construction Contracts Act 2002 and payment claims may be issued accordingly.
